Good morning Sir, (What will you say if it is a woman?)

I am glad to be here for this interview. First, let me thank you for finding time in the midst of pressing affairs.

I have a bachelor degree with a major in Mechanical and Electrical field.(pause) Graduated from the XXX university in 2002. Over the past three years, I have worked with XXX Co.,Ltd as Sales (again, in sales or as a sales man/person/rep?) who responsible (with responsibility mainly) for the market of Hunan. During this period, I have learnt much. I learned the values of teamwork and mitment, how to win, how to work hard, how to concentrate and focus on goals, and how to balance my time and priorities. Additional experience in other fields such as graduation practice in factory and mercial negotiation also reinforces my value to your pany.

I enjoy thinking, enjoy learning, enjoy working, (and I am )able to bear work pressure.

In my free time, I often participate (in) activities such as table tennis (and) badminton.

I am expecting to bee your colleague on some day. (More tactful to say ’I would love to bee you colleague/join the pany)

Because being offhand in advance, let’s leave it at that. (This sentence makes no sense. ’Being offhand’ means to be rude, inconsiderate, ill-mannered so I don’t think that is whay you mean! In advance of what? ’Let’s leave it at that’ is a mand, it sounds rather abrupt and ill-mannered to me, again I don’t think this is what you meant. How about ’I would love to join your pany and you would not regret giving me this opportunity.’ and just finish with a smile!)

It Pays to Be Honest

1.当前社会上存在许多不诚实的现象

2.诚实利人利己,做人应该诚实

(一) It Pays to Be Honest

Nowadays people are troubled with mass of dishonest behaviors in society. Teachers get annoyed when they catch students cheating on exams; consumers get hurt when they unfortunately buy some fake products; children are misled when they see their parents tell lies so as to evade the responsibility they should take.

Why do people cheat? The main reason probably lies in immediate interest they may obtain by cheating. For example, a pany, which manufactures fake products, may seem to win for a moment because it can minimize its manufacture cost by doing so. This kind of businesses, however, will be driven out of the market in the long run. For the consumers after getting to know the poor quality of the products will not buy them anymore.

The same is true of individuals. Dishonest people dare not take on the responsibility of life. They cheat in class, in office, at home and so on. But the truth can hardly be masked. The moment the truth es out they will lose their credibility, which is easier to destroy than to rebuild. Consequently, these dishonest will suffer a long time because of their cheating behaviors. In conclusion, no one can afford to be dishonest in a civilized society.

onesty is the pillar of a society. People will benefit from being honest in the long run. That's why we say it pays to be honest. It pays to be honest

(二)

When asked about honesty, different people hold different opinions. Some treasure it while others spurn it. How does this phenomenon e about?

With a growing number of people chasing money、statue as well as reputation everyday, we no longer pay much attention to our inner world as well as the pleasant virtue, which give rise to the lack of honesty for many men especially merchants, who may do something dishonest or even harmful to make money(the fake milk ponders mixed up with harmful chemical, inferior mutton made of chickens ···). Some people even ask such foolish question“Is honesty money or food?” to explain why they ignore honesty . They are too snobbish to see the beauty of people’s great characters. I am very sad to see so many people being selfish and ignore the health of others (these years, there are a great number of reports about inferior foods’ causing people sick or even death). It’s a tragedy that normal people, especially the poor and babies suffer a lot as the result of dishonesty and irresponsibility.

Nevertheless, a large quantity of people still reserve honesty. After all, many pany regard honesty as the basic quality of a man and they also hire worker by this idea. So it is with other people when they make friends. Honesty is one of the most precious personalities of human beings. And when a person shows honesty, most people would trust him\her, which may bring harmony to their surroundings. An honest person are more likely to be hired than who’s full of cunning. Honest is the bridge between strangers, which can help have more knowledge of others. It’s also the spring in our heart field, sweeping away all dust in our heart. We benefit a lot from being honest, and may influence our friends at the same time.

It’s never too late or too useless to be honest. We all long for people’s respect and honest can make it a reality. What’s more, it is not that much hard to be honest. Be brave to face your life and your words, and you’ll be trusted by your friends, may be employed by a famous pany,

receive pubic praise, be in a large group of friends and so on. Honesty is of no harm but great help to you, so why don’t be honest from now on?

Enough has been listed that we need to be honest. In a word, we can and should be honest.

A better world is in our hands after we all own the excellent character. I believe it does pay to be honest!

(三)expecting,praise,for,being,honest

Honesty is one of the most treasured traditional values in China. The children are taught to be honest when they are very young. At schools the students are also instructed to be honest.

However, with the development of soclety, we often hear plaints about dishonesty. Reports with the theme of dishonesty often appear in the media. For example, some people try to get rich and live a fortable life. But they do not work hard honestly, instead they cheat others. They sell something quite ordinary at a very high price, claiming it is a priceless piece he inherited from his great father. Some people's delaying paying back the loan can serve as another example. Some people, including some college students get loan from the bank, and promise to pay within, say, 3 years. However, they don't do that.

The dishonest people sometimes can get benefit from their behaviors. So some people assert that dishonesty can bring people benefit, while honesty only makes people suffer. Is that so? Definitely not. It is always true that honesty is the best policy. It pays to be honest. The cheater selling "the treasure" mentioned above will surely be disclosed and punished some day.

On the contrary, if he had been honest, neither the buyer nor he himself would have suffered. The people who do not return money in time will sooner or later bee notorious, and will not get the money from others again. If he had acted differently, he would have earned respect and trust, meanwhile, the bank would not have suffered from loss.

In summary, honesty can not only benefit others but also oneself. We should be honest. (四)

It Pays to Be Honest By Liu Huimei

Almost all of us heard the story “Here Comes the Wolf” when we were little kids. What we can learn from the story is that we must be honest. However, there’re lots of phenomena of dishonesty nowadays.

Being dishonest does great harm not only to other people but also to yourself. Take the case of fake milk powder for example. After drinking this kind of milk, the babies had big heads while their legs and arms were still thin, which badly affected their health. To our great relief, the producers got accused and punished for all the serious consequences in the end.

Needless to say, we should be honest, because being honest will do good to the people around us. As we know, Quanzhou is holding a series of activities called “Honest Quanzhou”, and there’re many workers from other provinces working here. In the past, as the Lunar New Year was drawing near, it was uneasy for them to get tickets. And as they were too anxious to go home, they usually paid a higher price and got tickets from some profiteers outside the bus or railway stations. But to make matters worse, they were often cheated and got fake tickets. In order to solve the problem, for two years the local munity and the employers together have helped the workers to buy tickets in advance at a lower price. The workers, of course, are very delighted, and they are sure to e back and work in Quanzhou again. Be honest and faithful to others, and you’ll get double repayments.

Furthermore, we ourselves can benefit much from being honest as well. Having the

reputation of being honest and reliable will make other people trust you. Being known as someone who can be trusted will provide you many benefits and give you opportunities that others may not get. Not only will these qualities make you rise in the eyes of others, you will also feel better about yourself. For example, being honest, you will find it easier to cooperate with others and people will be friendly to you and support you. Even if they disagree with you, they will still respect you.

If life is a sailing ship, honesty will be the sail.

If life is a running train, honesty will be the wheels.

If life is a long journey, honesty will be the backpack that should be taken along all the way.

Sure enough, it pays to be honest. Let’s pick up our “backpack”—honesty, and start the wonderful journey!

Passage 1

The writer learned from his grandparents that you are either honest or you are not; there is no middle ground. Honesty is a moral standard inside you, and you use it to judge the quality of your behavior. Honesty is in short supply. You must demand it of yourself. A good test of honesty involves three key principles: first, standing firmly for your convictions when confronted with pressure; second, always giving other people the praise they merit ; third, being honest and open about who you are. Self-respect and a clear conscience help make relationships with others stronger.

Passage 2

Americans are time-conscious people. They value time and save it carefully. Time is a real, precious resource to them so every minute must count. Foreigners may think Americans are always in a hurry and under pressure. Smiles, short conversations, and small exchanges with strangers don’t exist because Americans dislike “wasting” too much time. Americans assess others professionally rather than socially, so they start talking business immediately since they are always conscious of time. Americans work hard at saving time by producing a steady flow of labor-saving devices. They may have meetings using equipment like television screens and telephones rather than in person. Solving a problem or doing a job successfully with speed is taken as a sign of skillfulness. The more important the job, the more time and effort Americans will pour into it.

Passage 3

Nikolai was not that intimidating as I expected. He set up an Olympic standard for love: encouragement mingled with good humor, quiet gratitude, perceptivity, and sincerity. In the hard training sessions, I could always count on being encouraged by his amusing stories and sense of humor. However, Nikolai never babied me. When I was exhausted from the training, Nikolai was indifferent to my pain and urged me to go on skiing.

When I stopped training, I revisited Nikolai, realizing that from my quiet, indissoluble bond with Nikolai, I had gained a lot and known the Olympic standard for love: to have the courage, heart, discipline to persist, and to have gratitude in advance for a century of life on earth.

Passage 4

Gail and Mark had been together for two years and had learned to understand and respect each other. Recently they decided to get married and they told the news to Gail’s parents. To their surprise, they met with some resistance. Gail’s mother was worried that they might be marrying for the wrong reasons and advised her daughter to wait. Gail’s father also opposed the marriage because he thought that Mark was marrying her daughter so that he could remain in the United States. Such concerns are understandable. After all, marriage across nations may have its problems of one kind or another.

Passage 5

A meaningful college life means a lot to many people. To the best of my knowledge, the first thing is to identify what to achieve from our college life. Once we get the real sense of it, we would know what is worth doing and what is unworthy. Then, we should seize every opportunity to achieve an all-round growth, including the cultivation of fine character and team spirit. And finally, we should seek the opportunities to apply our knowledge into our fields of interest.
